"Al-Muyassar fi Gharib al-Qur'an al-Karim"

"Al-Muyassar fi Gharib al-Qur'an al-Karim" is a specialized publication by the Center for Qur’anic Studies at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an. It was developed to meet the growing need of readers to understand Qur’anic terms that require clarification and knowledge of Arabic linguistic styles. The book follows a rigorous scientific methodology based on selecting the most predominant and well-known meanings while avoiding obscure opinions or complex linguistic details that might distract a non-specialist reader. In its introduction, the book emphasizes that "Gharib" (strange/difficult) does not mean the words are rejected or odd, but rather terms whose meanings might be hidden from some due to their distance from the practice of classical Arabic. Therefore, the book is designed to be a companion to the Madinah Mushaf, with the explained words arranged according to the order of the Surahs and verses making it easy to search for and access meanings during recitation. The primary goal of this work is to achieve the fundamental purpose of "Tadabbur" (contemplation); understanding the literal word is the first key to grasping the general meaning of the verse and acting upon divine guidance. Its credibility stems from being issued by an official institution under the supervision of specialized scientific committees that reviewed every detail to ensure accuracy, serving as a bridge that connects the modern reader to the beauty and eloquence of the Qur’anic text with ease.
