"This is a specialized jurisprudence book that compiles 23 fatwas by Sheikh Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz regarding the rulings and etiquettes of Taraaweeh and Qiyaam (night prayers) in Ramadan. The book aims to guide worshippers and Imams on common issues during Taraaweeh such as the number of rak'aat, reciting from the Mushaf, moving between mosques, weeping during prayer, and the supplication for completing the Qur'an all in accordance with the guidance of the Prophetic Sunnah."
This book serves as a practical jurisprudence guide aimed at English speakers, compiling twenty-three fatwas by His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz that clarify the rulings and etiquettes of Taraaweeh and Qiyaam prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan. The book addresses a range of jurisprudential issues that frequently arise among Imams and worshippers, starting with the number and variation of Taraaweeh rak'aat and the ruling on praying eleven rak'ah behind an Imam who prays twenty-three, as well as the rules for organizing and lengthening prayers during the last ten nights. It also covers matters related to recitation and completing the Qur'an, such as the ruling on finishing the entire Qur'an in Taraaweeh, the preferred amount of recitation per rak'ah, the shortest permissible period to complete it, and the ruling on the Imam or congregation holding a Mushaf during prayer, in addition to the recitation in the last three rak'aat and the supplication after completing the Qur'an. Furthermore, the book details prayer etiquettes and worshipper conduct, outlining the ruling on traveling between different mosques seeking a nice voice, the general principles for deciding prayer length while taking the elderly and weak into consideration, along with the rulings on humility and weeping such as crying aloud, forcing oneself to cry, and distinguishing between weeping in supplication versus in recitation as well as the rulings on reciting melodiously and whether an Imam may charge a fee for leading the prayers.
