The Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Prayer Summary

""A Summary of the Prophet’s Prayer Described" is a simplified, practical jurisprudential guide authored by Sheikh Al-Albani to provide Muslims with a step-by-step demonstration of how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performed his prayer, based entirely on authentic Hadiths. Beginning with facing the Ka'bah and establishing intention, the book details every movement, recitation, and supplication such as standing, bowing, prostrating, tashahhud and qunoot up to the final salutation. It serves as a concise yet comprehensive reference to help believers emulate the Prophet in observing the second pillar of Islam."

"A Summary of the Prophet’s Prayer Described: From the Takbeer to the Salutation as if You See It" by the eminent Hadith scholar Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him) is a simplified, practical jurisprudential guide. The author compiled it as a concise abridgment of his famous original work, aiming to make scholarly material accessible to all Muslims by omitting lengthy chains of transmission (isnad) and critical analysis while strictly maintaining the authenticity of the narrated traditions. This enables every Muslim to fulfill the Prophet's instruction: "Pray as you have seen me praying."

The book covers rulings and supplications in a meticulous, sequential order that guides the worshiper step by step: starting with facing the Ka'bah, standing (Qiyaam), and forming the intention in the heart without verbal utterance; moving to the opening Takbeer and opening supplications; detailing the rules of reciting Surah Al-Faatihah and other chapters, including silent and aloud recitations; describing the proper form and tranquility required in bowing (Rukoo') and prostration (Sujood); and elaborating on the third and fourth rak'ahs, as well as the postures for the first and final Tashahhud (such as Iftiraash and Tawarruk). Additionally, it addresses the Qunoot supplication in the Witr prayer, the authentic supplications before the final salutation and the manner and types of salutation (Tasleem). The text is further enriched with a special appendix on Surah Al-Faatihah and a glossary of jurisprudential terms to clarify subtle meanings in an accessible manner.

Born in Shkodra, Albania, he was raised in Damascus, Syria, where his family emigrated. There, he worked as a watchmaker to earn his living while dedicating himself fully to scholarly research and examining manuscripts in the Al-Dhahiriyyah Library for decades. Among his most prominent works are Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah (Series of Authentic Hadiths), Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth ad-Da'eefah wa al-Mawdoo'ah (Series of Weak and Fabricated Hadiths), Irwaa' al-Ghaleel, and Siffat Salaat an-Nabee (The Prophet’s Prayer Described), in addition to evaluating, authenticating, and abridging the four Sunan books, as well as authoring evidence-based jurisprudence treatises. He served as a professor of Hadith sciences at the Islamic University of Madinah upon its founding and was awarded the King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam in recognition of his extraordinary contributions, until he passed away in Amman, Jordan, at the age of 85 after a lifetime dedicated to research and authorship in the Noble Hadith.
