The "Translation of the Meanings of the Noble Qur'an into the Spanish Language" by Abdelghani Melara Navío is the preeminent Islamic work and primary reference for Spanish speakers worldwide. It earned the prestigious endorsement of the King Fahd Complex in Medina, becoming the official edition for global distribution. The exceptional value of this work lies in its nature as an "insider’s translation" written by a native Spaniard who embraced Islam and mastered its sciences. This allowed him to harmonize literary grace and sophisticated linguistic expression with strict doctrinal accuracy. Navío adhered to the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, grounding his understanding of the verses in authoritative classical exegeses such as those by Ibn Kathir, Al-Tabari, and Al-Qurtubi. Beyond mere literal translation, he captured the spirit of the Quranic text through a contemporary and dignified Spanish that transcends cultural barriers. By integrating subtle explanatory notes, he ensured that the correct meanings reach readers in Spain and Latin America, establishing this book as a civilizational bridge that reconnects the Spanish language with its Andalusian roots and provides a credible, artistic and faithful reference for new Muslims and researchers alike.
