"Makkah: Shelter of Hearts"

This book serves as a venerable and engaging reference that blends the essence of spiritual history, the depth of jurisprudential rulings and an introduction to the geographical landmarks of the purest spot on Earth: Makkah Al-Mukarramah. Moving gracefully through its structured chapters, the book paints a complete picture that satisfies the reader's curiosity and enriches the Muslim's soul. It begins by showcasing Makkah's sublime status before Allah Almighty and its significance among the noble angels as a meeting point for the inhabitants of Earth and Heaven. It also dives into its historical symbolism by reviewing its prominence in previous divine scriptures and among the prophets and messengers who performed pilgrimage to the House, leading up to its exalted status in the heart of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was born, raised and received the divine revelation there and even touches upon how non-Muslims view and are awed by this majestic city.

Furthermore, the book dedicates significant space to explaining the virtue of obedience and worship in Makkah and the multiplication of rewards, while tracing the specific places where supplications (Duaa) are answered during the rituals. Conversely, it provides a cautionary chapter warning those heading to Makkah against sins and transgressions, which are magnified in the Sanctuary just as good deeds are. The book also addresses the fifth pillar of Islam "Hajj and Umrah" by explaining its purposes and rituals, followed by the precise jurisprudential rulings and characteristics that distinguish the Makkah Sanctuary, preserve its inviolability, and instill its reverence in the hearts of believers. Finally, it transitions the reader into a field and documentary exploration by reviewing Makkah’s eternal landmarks; it details its historical and archaeological mosques, its mountains that witnessed the dawn of the message such as Mount Noorn and the holy sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah that host the guests of the Most Merciful. This is accompanied by a meticulous mapping of locations and places mentioned in the Prophetic biography and Islamic history. With its visually engaging presentation, this book becomes an ideal companion for pilgrims and performers of Umrah and a captivating reference that allows readers to live with their hearts and souls within the boundaries of the Sacred Makkah Sanctuary.
