The Daily Traditions and Supplications of The Prophet
"This book is a comprehensive practical guide that compiles the prophetic traditions (Sunnah) and daily supplications (Adhkar) that a Muslim is encouraged to practice throughout the day and night. The book adopts a structured chronological approach from the moment of waking up until going to sleep navigating through various acts of worship such as purification, ablution, obligatory and voluntary prayers, as well as the etiquette of going to the mosque and the manners of sleep and dreams. This makes it an accessible reference for every Muslim seeking to follow the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ in the fine details of daily life."
This book outlines an integrated daily program for Muslims, inspired by the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It begins with introductory chapters that showcase the concept of the Prophetic Sunnah and the immense rewards a Muslim reaps by following it. It then transitions into "Timed Sunan" arranged chronologically according to the hours of the day starting from the pre-dawn period and the etiquette of waking up such as using the tooth-stick (Siwak) and reciting the final verses of Surah Ali 'Imranmoving through the detailed acts and manners of ablution (Wudu), followed by the voluntary night prayers (Qiyam il-Layl) and Witr, up until the time of the Fajr prayer, which includes the Sunnan of the Adhan, the virtues of the Sunnah of Fajr, and the etiquette of walking to the mosque. Furthermore, the book details the physical and verbal Sunnan within the prayer itself, from the rulings of the prayer screen (Sutrah) to the postures of bowing (Rukoo'), prostration (Sujood), Tashahhud, and the narrated supplications after the obligatory prayers. It then addresses the regular sunnah prayers and the etiquette of different periods throughout the day and night, such as the Duha prayer, delaying the Dhuhr prayer during intense heat and evening manners like keeping children indoors and locking doors while mentioning Allah’s name. The book concludes its chapters by explaining the Prophetic guidance when retiring to bed, such as sleeping on the right side, reciting sleep supplications from the Qur'an and Sunnah, and how to handle dreams and visions. This makes the work a structured guide that transforms simple daily habits into acts of worship and proximity for which a Muslim is rewarded.
