Human rights

"This book provides a rigorous Sharia-based grounding of "Human Rights" in Islam. In it, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Sheikh starts from the foundational Quranic principle of honoring the descendants of Adam. The book conclusively demonstrates how Islamic law anticipated modern secular legislation by introducing a comprehensive, integrated system valid for all times and places that preserves human dignity, safeguards humanity against shifting worldly distractions and offers definitive solutions to contemporary issues through the lens of monotheism (Tawhid) and divine justice."

The book "Human Rights" by His Eminence Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Sheikh stands as a highly significant intellectual and jurisprudential treatise. It seeks to reconstruct and anchor the concept of "human rights" from the perspective of the sublime Islamic Sharia, highlighting the fundamental differences between this divine framework and contemporary secular paradigms. The author initiates his study from the firmly established Quranic principle of honoring humanity, grounded in the verse: "And We have certainly honored the children of Adam" He emphasizes that this divine honoring is the ultimate source from which all rights flow to preserve human dignity and freedom.

Through rigorous scholarly analysis, the Sheikh demonstrates that Islamic law is complete, blessed and uniquely suited to rectify and guide humanity across all times and places, regardless of changing circumstances or geographical distances. This inherent adaptability enables Sharia to provide decisive solutions to the most complex human rights issues while safeguarding essential human necessities. Far from being merely theoretical, the book explains that the ultimate elevation and empowerment of human beings lie in liberating their minds and hearts through the message of Monotheism (Tawhid). This makes the book both an accessible and profound reference that enriches the knowledge of researchers, intellectuals and students of Islamic knowledge, equipping them with the necessary scholarly tools to address contemporary rights-related issues with a robust and integrated Islamic vision.
