Authored in English by the late eminent scholar, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Sâlih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him), this book serves as an integrated, simplified and practical jurisprudential guide aimed at leading English-speaking Muslims step-by-step through the rituals of Hajj, ‘Umrah and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in accordance with the Quran and the authentic Sunnah. The book stands out for its clear, practical approach, beginning with a detailed clarification of the essential differences between the three forms of pilgrimage: Tamattu’ (where the pilgrim performs ‘Umrah and unties their Ihram before entering Ihram for Hajj), Ifraad (performing Hajj alone) and Qiraan (combining both rituals in a single Ihram). It then smoothly transitions to explain the rulings of Ihram, its prohibitions, the manner of performing Tawaaf and Sa'yi, standing at 'Arafah, staying overnight in Muzdalifah and Mina, throwing the pebbles (Jamaraat) and performing the Tawaaf of Ifadhah and Farewell. Additionally, a dedicated chapter is allocated to the etiquette of visiting the Prophet’s Mosque and greeting the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his two companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to help pilgrims avoid common mistakes. This scholarly work is further enhanced by precise explanatory footnotes that simplify Islamic terminology for non-Arabic speakers, making it an ideal, reliable and portable companion to carry and review throughout this blessed spiritual journey.
