Ithaf Al-Nabil fi Ahkam Al-Tamathil
"The book "Ithaf Al-Nabil fi Ahkam Al-Tamathil" (The Gift of the Noble Concerning the Rulings of Statues) is a brief and reasoned jurisprudential treatise that falls under the "Jurisprudential Summaries Series" , authored by His Eminence Sheikh Fahd bin Yahya Al-Ammari, Judge at the Court of Appeal in Makkah. The book provides a concise legal analysis addressing the Sharia rulings on contemporary statues and three-dimensional figures that have spread in Muslim homes and public spaces. It clarifies the stark legal distinction between these figures and photography, aiming to educate and advise Muslims by detailing ten essential jurisprudential matters in this chapter in an accessible and non-lengthy manner."
The book "Ithaf Al-Nabil fi Ahkam Al-Tamathil" (The Gift of the Noble Concerning the Rulings of Statues) by His Eminence Sheikh Fahd bin Yahya Al-Ammari, Judge at the Court of Appeal in Makkah, is considered a significant jurisprudential and awareness discourse addressing a contemporary phenomenon: the widespread presence of statues and three-dimensional models in Muslim homes, offices, vehicles, and private and public spaces. In this book, the author is driven by a desire to offer advice to Muslims and warn them against imitating other cultures in decoration and ostentation, especially given that many are oblivious to the prohibitive Islamic texts. Relying originally on educational messages he had previously published via the "WhatsApp" application, the author structures the material here into a distinguished and concise jurisprudential framework. Through this, he addresses (ten specific and fundamental issues) that suit contemporary circumstances and answer people's questions, placing a strong emphasis on providing Sharia evidence and convincing jurisprudential reasonings, while clarifying the vast legal difference between these physical models and photography. Furthermore, the Sheikh does not limit his treatise to dry legal listing; rather, he links it to spiritual and educational aspects by reminding the reader of the consequences of keeping such statues in homes namely, the departure of angels and the entry of devils. Ultimately, he warns against falling into cultural vanity and complacency, which could turn Muslim homes into havens for music, distraction and devils.
