Course Description
New Muslim Level A (Course 2 of 3): Worship, the Prophet ﷺ, and Living by Islam.
This course focuses on the practical aspects of worship and daily religious life. Students will learn the importance of purification, remembrance of Allah (Adhkar), and the proper understanding and performance of Salah (Prayer). The course also introduces the life and mission of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, helping students understand his role as the final messenger and the best example for Muslims.
In addition, students will study the remaining pillars of worship, including fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage, as well as the Islamic understanding of the Hereafter and the Day of Judgment. Practical guidance on halal and haram matters will help students apply Islamic teachings in their daily lives regarding food, dress, finances, family relations, and major sins.

The Islamic Institute of Orange County (IIOC) is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) mosque and institution established in 1991 to serve the greater Orange County community as a source of Islamic knowledge, spirituality, social gatherings, and communal support. IIOC primarily provides prayer services, weekly Friday khutbah prayers, community programming and events, and a full-time Pre-K to 8th grade Islamic School, Minaret Academy. IIOC vision is to inspire the future through the values of the Prophetic past. IIOC mission is to be the minaret for Muslims in fostering Islamic values by providing religious, educational, and social services for the betterment of humanity.
